Paoli Furniture Infuses Transitional Design With Neo-classic Style and Abundant Storage for New Altamont Collection

ORLEANS, IN, JUNE 2008 — Paoli Furniture’s new Altamont casegoods line was developed to fill a contract marketplace need for transitional furniture design that evokes contemporary style, yet remains timeless in design essence and application. Paoli Altamont style and function caters to image conscious professionals, working in today’s smaller office spaces. These spaces require furniture systems capable of handling intense electronic and paper storage, while remaining uncluttered.

“The primary benefit of Paoli Altamont is that it is simple to understand, price and specify,” said furniture designer Don Laughter of Archetype+. “While having a transitional aspect, contemporary clean lines create a sense of order. Historical references of sketch face veneer inlay seamlessly coexist with wire and cable management. Also, the price point makes it a very high value collection.”

For dealers, this simplicity translates to easy and quick selling and ordering with less line training and education.

Updated Neo-classic style gets wired

Conveying clear solidity and professionalism, Paoli Altamont evokes early 19th century neo-classic style. Available in cherry and maple finishes, this design celebrates the beauty of wood with diamond patterned worksurfaces created using quartered veneer in a reverse, box layout. An oval-shape glass top in black or white is offered for conference extensions. Towers have capitals with contrasting veneer inlay, cornice and a contrasting black cap and lower surround. Constructed to last, hardwood edges and tiered hardwood bases keep Altamont fresh. Units can be specified as stand-alone with extended tops and bases or with flush ends on tops and bases for seamless connecting to other Altamont components. Electrical plugs and wiring are easily accessible but concealed to create an uncluttered feeling.

Storage Abundance

Deeper than normal shelving for upper storage units accommodate storage and filing needs of attorneys and accountants. Desk pedestals accommodate both legal and letter files, while a 13-inch vertical module enables file drawers and shelving to be interchangeable, with space for standard height vertical binders on all shelves. Sturdy one-inch thick shelving ensures stability for maximum paper management capacity.

Flexible specification

Worksurfaces range in size and prices, with larger desks and credenza tops featuring matched veneer inlays in a diamond pattern. File drawers and pedestals can be specified with box/box and file/file drawers — both are easy to take apart and reassemble to change parts or to relocate. Glass or wood doors, pull options, finish choices, as well as inlay choices allow designers and end users to tailor the line to create a unique image for each project.

“Offices in larger city centers are shrinking in footprint. Paoli Altamont was specifically designed to fit smaller spaces, including the current 12-foot deep office spaces,” reports Laughter.
